Company:
We are a fast paced, highly motivated, pressure sensitive label house in the Pleasanton-Valley area.

Position:
Highly experienced flexo prepress operator

Position Overview:
The Prepress operator will perform a high-level of prepress production duties including file management, preflighting, proofing, trapping, design, and ordering of tools and materials needed for jobs. The candidate will have to be able to efficiently manage their time to ensure production deadlines are met. Candidate must be highly organized, and detail oriented to ensure jobs are produced accurately. Candidate must also be a team player, and be open to learning all aspects of print production.

Responsibilities:
* Pre-flight artwork as it comes in to ensure graphic files meet our requirements
* Prepare accurate proofs for customer approval
* Trap and setup jobs for production to analog film, as well as digital plates
* Conduct various checks for quality control and final output
* Provide maintenance on prepress equipment as needed

Qualifications:
* Must have a strong prepress technical expertise with experience and understanding of printing and prepress standards
* Must be able to handle themselves professionally and with limited supervision when required
* Must have the ability to keep projects on track in a time critical environment and to assess problems quickly and to resolve efficiently or escalate appropriately
* Must be highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Quark Express, and Microsoft applications
* Preferred experience with Esko Artwork and Nexus workflows
* Must have a strong eye for color. Experience in color management is preferred.
* Must exhibit a positive attitude and have a strong work ethic

Education and/or Experience:
A minimum of 5-7 years of high quality prepress experience in flexographic printing is required. Experience with job planning/engineering, tooling, materials and plate making is also required.
